Organization Overview
Golden Gate Senior Services (GGSS) was established in 1975 with a mission to maintain and improve the well-being of older adults and adults with disabilities. Our neighborhood-based centers, the Richmond and Castro Senior Centers, foster healthy aging through activities, nutrition, education and friendship. The Richmond Senior Center (RSC) provides congregate meals, recreational and educational activities, computer access and classes, field trips, and a variety of workshops to support aging in place. With support from San Francisco Department of Disability and Aging (DAS), the RSC also offers an Aging and Disability Resource Center, a Golden Gate Village, and Home Delivered Groceries programs for seniors and adults with disabilities.
Summary
The Program Supervisor will supervise RSC program staff for each of our four San Francisco Department of Disability and Aging Services (DAS) contracts. The four program areas are Community Services, Golden Gate Village, Home-Delivered Groceries and Aging & Disability Resource Center.
The Program Supervisor will lead the recruitment and training of volunteers and cultivate partnership opportunities. The Program Supervisor will ensure that we meet our contract service objectives, create data tracking methods for monthly and annual reports, and manage social media and website updates. They will provide guidance and support to program staff and foster collaboration and teamwork.
Duties and Responsibilities
HUMAN RESOURCES
- Supervises RSC program staff and assists with onboarding new staff
- Manages independently contracted services
PROGRAM AND PARTNERSHIP MANAGEMENT
- Supports staff with the design and implementation of social service programs that support the health, independence, and wellbeing of participants
- Ensures that accessibility & inclusion are prioritized across all programs
- Cultivates or maintains partnerships with local community organizations
- Attends all necessary partnership meetings to include, but not limited to, Food Bank, DAS and other related collaborations
- Serves as liaison to DAS Program Analysts, to include annual monitoring preparation and implementation
- Manages operations budgets
- Communicates and problem solves program growth opportunities and challenges with the RSC Director
ADMINISTRATION
- Monitors new participant intakes/applications
- Plans and implements the annual participant surveys for all programs and reports out results
- Updates DAS GetCare database monthly and analyzes variance reports on all RSC programs
- Facilitates the development of central RSC database to manage participants, volunteers, and services
VOLUNTEER PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT
- Oversees the development of a volunteer team and works collaboratively with the Bilingual Program Manager on the existing volunteer program
- Supports RSC program staff with establishing volunteer job descriptions and developing outreach strategies to expand the volunteer pool
- Oversees the development of a volunteer manual, and establishes and supports volunteer training and recognition programs
OUTREACH & COMMUNITY RELATIONS
- Responds to inquiries from the public and makes necessary follow-up connections with RSC program staff
- Attends and coordinates staff attendance at various weekend or evening outreach events
- Works on marketing projects as needed, including social media posts and the creation of the quarterly newsletter and website content
Necessary Certifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Degree or certification in Gerontology, Human Services, Social Work, or other related field preferred, or equivalent work/life experience with seniors, adults with disabilities, and/or volunteers
- Experience in program development and evaluation in non-profit community organizations
- 4+ years experience in supervising and managing teams
- Excellent multi-tasking, analytical, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Computer competence and proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
- Positive, flexible, energetic person with excellent communication and organizational skills
- Passionate, engaged and compelled by a desire to make a difference in a genuinely delightful community
Preferred Certifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Bilingual English/Cantonese highly preferred
- Driver’s License and access to a car preferred
Physical and Other Qualifications:
- Ability to withstand prolonged periods sitting or standing in front of a computer
- Ability to stand for long periods at events and activities
- A tolerance for a lively, sometimes noisy work environment and ability to focus with activity in the background
Position Details:
Pay Range: $62,400 - $76,960 annually
Hours: Full Time, 40 non-exempt hours per week onsite – occasional remote work may be authorized (Evening and occasional weekend work required), full-time, non-exempt

Location: This is an onsite position based in the Richmond District of San Francisco, CA.
