Temple Shalom of Newton is hiring Teachers for the 25-26 School Year (Sept-May)
Temple Shalom is a dynamic Reform synagogue in Newton, Massachusetts. At Temple Shalom we are dedicated to providing an exceptional supplementary Jewish Education program that fosters a strong connection to Jewish values, traditions, and history. Our mission is to empower our students with a solid foundation of knowledge while igniting their love for Judaism through immersive and interactive learning experiences.
We are currently seeking outstanding teachers to join our program and help shape the future leaders of our community. Our goal is for teachers to connect with their students and help their students connect to being Jewish in order to foster community at the synagogue. You will work closely with the Learning & Engagement team to adapt provided lessons and curriculum to fit your teaching style and the needs / interests of your students.
We are currently searching for teachers for our K-7 Jewish Living and Learning Program. In particular, we are looking for staff with interest or a background in working with children with special and diverse learning needs. Staff must also have a connection to Judaism.

Part-Time Teachers will play an instrumental role in the education and inspiration of our students in grades K-7. Interactive curriculum and lesson plans will be provided for you.
The ideal candidate is great with kids and has a connection to the Jewish community.
This role is onsite and pays $61/hour. We are looking for teachers on Wednesdays 1:30-5pm and Sundays morning 9:30-1:30. Teachers can work either Wednesday or Sunday or both. Curriculum and Lesson Plans are provided. There is some flexibility with the hours.
Available Positions
Grades K-7 Sunday morning Teachers: 9:15-12:00 or 1:30 (September-May) $61/ Hour
Grades K-5 Wednesday Afternoon Teachers: 1:30-5:00* (September-May) $61 / Hour
*hours can be flexible to start at 2:30 or end at 6:00
Grades 6-7 Wednesday Afternoon Teaching Position: 3:00-5:00 pm (September-May) $61/ Hour
Inclusion Specialist Sunday: Help support students with inclusion needs in and out of the classroom. Hours similar to above- $50/hour- Great for a college student or graduate student studying Special Education.
