Scope of Work

Amalgamated Charitable Foundation – Powered by Faith National Campaigns Manager (Contract Role)

Powered by Faith (PbF) is engaging a contractor to serve as the National Campaigns Manager for 12 months with the possibility of renewal. We want the contractor to begin in January or early February 2026.

Powered by Faith (PbF) is a time-bound strategic initiative mobilizing faith communities across traditions—Black churches, Evangelicals, Muslims, Jews, Catholics, Mainline Protestants, and other people of faith —to defend democracy and counter authoritarianism. Through mass organizing, coordinated campaigns, and shared moral leadership, Powered by Faith supports a diverse leadership cohort and builds infrastructure for lasting engagement by people of faith in public life. Rooted in values of love, justice, and inclusive democracy, the initiative operates with urgency over a 12–24 month window to activate the moral power of organized religion in defense of democratic norms.

This contractor will support multi-faith, multi-issue organizing efforts that bring multiple national faith streams into coordinated action leading up to a major national moment planned for a season of action in 2026.

Below is an outline of the work, responsibilities, expectations, and deliverables for this role.

1. Purpose of the Engagement

As the National Campaigns Manager, you will coordinate a complex national organizing effort across diverse faith streams, partners, and issue areas. Your work will help faith leaders take collective action, expand grassroots engagement, and build a unified narrative for the Season of Action.

You’ll collaborate closely with the Lead Organizer to translate broad strategy into concrete plans, systems, tools, and coordinated actions.

2. Core Responsibilities

A. Campaign & Project Management

As contractor, you will:

  • Develop and maintain a national campaign calendar, milestones, and project plans.
  • Manage cross-stream alignment toward the national action planned during a season of action in 2026.
  • Meet regularly with the Lead Organizer and relevant stream leaders to track progress and identify opportunities.
  • Work with the Communications firm to ensure that the national online campaign calendar is kept up-to-date by stream leaders with all relevant information.

B. Organizing & Engagement

You will help orchestrate:

  • A suite of Spring "Faithful Rising" Actions across the nation plus a possible multiple city, mass action around the 250th anniversary of the United States.
  • Multi-city actions such as petition campaigns and other coordinated efforts.
  • Mobilization strategies that help faith leaders activate their constituencies.
  • Pathways for deeper engagement and community leadership across faith traditions.
  • Design and facilitate leadership development opportunities for clergy and grassroots leaders.

This will involve partnering with stream leaders, local organizers, and external allies to support activation and participation.

C. Coalition Building & Cross-Stream Collaboration

You will:

  • Work with the Lead Organizer and Stream leader campaign team to facilitate connection and ensure cohesion and cooperative planning.
  • Bring together partners, allies, and collaborators who can strengthen the Season of Action.
  • Support shared framing, messaging, and actions across all streams.

D. Communications & Digital Integration

In partnership with Raben, Hattaway, and PbF’s communications leads, you will:

  • Help operationalize the new landing page, narrative frames, and online engagement flows.
  • Translate organizing needs into clear digital requirements for the website and campaign tools.
  • Ensure digital strategy, narrative, and actions align across all streams.

E. Data & Systems Support

You will:

  • Provide guidance on how the national database should function to support organizers and track engagement.
  • Use data and reporting to inform strategy, improve campaign activities, and measure impact.
  • Manage or develop shared tools such as dashboards, calendars, project trackers, and documentation systems.
  • Maintain organized campaign files, systems, and materials throughout the engagement.
  • Coordinate and supervise the contractor responsible for CRM maintenance and development, ensuring data systems support cross-stream organizing and reporting.

F. Strategic Advising

You will:

  • Advise the Lead Organizer, Cheri Andes, on cross-stream alignment, campaign progress, and strategy adjustments.
  • Contribute ideas on narrative framing, escalation planning, and collaborative actions.
  • Help create a unified cross-stream strategy chart integrating issues, actions, and timelines.

3. Key Deliverables

By the end of the engagement, you will deliver:

Campaign Deliverables

  • A coordinated campaign plan for the Season of Action.
  • A cross-stream campaign calendar and unified strategy map.
  • A “menu of actions” used by all seven faith streams.

Systems & Tools

  • Project management tools, calendars, and dashboards that support multi-stream coordination.
  • User-friendly guidelines or instructions for campaign tools and processes.
  • Organized documentation and digital files across key campaign areas.
  • Toolkits: action guides, training materials, and step-by-step resources for stream leaders and organizers.

Reports & Analysis

  • Summary reports on actions, outcomes, participation, and impact.
  • Data- or metrics-based evaluations of campaign activities.
  • Notes, summaries, or documentation of meetings and strategic decisions.

Communications Support

  • Input on coordinated messaging and public narrative frames.
  • Recommendations for digital flows and website functionality.
